In 1992 Evelyn Lauder co-created the Pink Ribbon and founded the Estée Lauder Companies’ (ELC) Breast Cancer Campaign, uniting people to help create a breast cancer-free world. Whilst significant progress has been made over the past 30 years, ELC UK & Ireland commissioned research revealing that 8 in 10 women are not regularly self-checking, with rates lowest amongst Black women.

In October 2022, Leanne Pero officially came on board as a UK & Ireland Breast Cancer Campaign Ambassador, having previously worked with ELC including on Focus Group research with Black women. Together, the Campaign and Leanne are committed to helping black women prioritise breast health and encourage all women to regularly self-check.

In 2022, we are proud to have raised £350,660.89 and counting for six charities: Black Women Rising UK, Coppafeel, Trekstock, Breast Cancer Now, Make 2nds Count, and Future Dreams.

The Pink Ribbon Foundation (Reg. Charity No. 1080839) is a grant making trust with a mission to fund projects and provide financial support to UK charities which relieve the needs of people who are suffering from, or who have been affected by breast cancer or who work to advance the understanding of breast cancer, its early detection and treatment. The Pink Ribbon Foundation has very little infrastructure, it relies on the hard work given by Trustees, interested parties and its Patrons. This is done in order to maximise the amount, which goes to the charities that benefit from the funds raised.
