Our specialised bi-yearly one-of-a-kind publication launched with our inaugural issue in October 2020. The aim of the magazine is to empower women of colour going through cancer. Since then we have sent out 1000s of magazines to people all over the UK (and the world) as well as provided copies to hospitals, clinics and other healthcare settings.
In 2021 we decided to collect some data of our own to explore potential health inequalities experienced by women of colour with breast cancer. We knew from our charitable work that there is not enough data available to help guide the change we need to reduce the disparities and save lives. All survey entries were completed anonymously by 100 women of colour living in the UK who are currently living or survived breast cancer. The findings of which corroborated the gaps in care and lived experiences that we are working hard to dissipate.
We travelled to Ghana in 2023 to film a 5-minute short research film on Breast Cancer disparities, but it evolved into a 45-minute documentary, a journey shaped by the powerful stories, strength, and resilience we witnessed firsthand. We had the honour of working closely with several breast cancer organisations, whose founders and members opened up their lives to us with courage and grace.
Released in 2025 following its premier in Ghana at LOATAD (Library of Africa the African Diaspora), with the very people who helped bring it to life.
